Cleeve School

Extra-Curricular Opportunities

Many of our students are incredibly successful outside, as well as inside, the classroom. We therefore run an extensive range of sporting, creative and cultural extra-curricular activities and visits aimed at engaging all students.

As a school we offer a variety of sporting activities and students compete at school, county and national level. Sports include rugby, football, cricket, hockey, swimming, netball, athletics, rounders and dance.

We have a strong tradition of the arts at Cleeve School. Students can have their work displayed in the art gallery and take part in a number of art competitions. Our Drama Department have their own Drama Studio and regularly put on performances as well as an annual whole school show. Our Music Department have a variety of groups and ensembles including the Choir, Samba Band, Folk Group, Jazz Band, Strings Group, Orchestra, and regularly perform in competitions and as part of the Cheltenham Jazz Festival.

There are a variety of other clubs that students can participate in, including Chess Club, Debating and Fair Traders. The Duke of Edinburgh is another popular part of extra-curricular activities at Cleeve School.

Off site visits (school trips) are an integral part of school life. Trips enhance and enrich the curriculum and provide students with an alternative type of learning. There are also a number of residential trips; from the school year 2014/15 examples of residential visits are Key Stage 4 and 5 visit to Iceland; Key Stage 3 visit to Spain; French and Spanish exchanges. Parents will be informed of all trips for which their child is eligible to take part in.
