Support and Guidance

Students receive support with their personal

statements and applications through detailed

guidance from subject teachers, tutors and Sixth

Form Team. A wide range of printed prospectuses

and online courses/careers information is available

in the Sixth Form Centre, Sixth Form Virtual

Learning page and in the Pathways Resource

Bank. Students benefit from further support on

making career pathway decisions through our

licence to UniFrog and from sessions with Elevate

Employability Programme

For those not planning to apply to university, our

Employability Programme provides a valuable

introduction to the world of work, including sessions

on CV-writing, applying for jobs and apprenticeships

and interview technique. All students are invited to our

Careers Evening and take part in an Employability Skills

day, as well as an optional trip to the ‘The Skills Show’

to learn more about alternative pathways. All students

are offered the opportunity to complete a week’s work

experience related to a potential career pathway.
